Ask me anything   Submit   My love of classic and rare movies is almost overbearing. I adore The actresses, actor’s, writer’s and director’s who put them together. My favorite films span from silent era to the 70’s. Although I am a huge Meryl Streep fan and The Hours might actually be my favorite all time film. That’s hard to say. I do however see many films of my era…but with the exception of a few, I don’t enjoy them as much. I have obsessions with actors and actresses due to my theatre background. One performance might catch my eye and then I haft to see everything they’ve done (Claudette Colbert, Greer Garson, Grayson Hall, Dame Judith Anderson, Deborah Kerr…and the list goes on) I love finding inspirational performances. Performances that make me want to get up there and do my thing (Thankyou Grayson Hall and Katharine Hepburn…) I will also talk a lot about my favorite tv shows (Dark Shadows and I don’t mean the crappy reboot from the 90’s)…I love Dr. Julia Hoffman even if it’s just a quote or a fun picture. I am no real critic, although entitled to my own opinion. Im also a crappy writer…but that’s not stopping me ;)

300 Films - 6 Months (6-26/12-31) Post #3

17. Those Redheads From Seattle (1953) - Nothing special here…forget about the young redheads and watch this for the dear Agnes Moorehead who was an amzing actress…the hell with Bewitched! Agnes Moorehead MOVIE STAR!!!

Throwing a pic of Aggie in here because she rox my sox!

18. The George Raft Story (1961) Good movie. With lots of interesting facts about the actors life i had no idea about. Hangin’ out with Al Capone and all…wonder how much was fact!? George Raft was handsome but the man who played you in this movie…WOW!! Sorry Georgie…

Jayne Mansfield had a so so good acting role here…but she’s no Marilyn Monroe. She got 1st billing….uhm…rediculous!

The Real George Raft

He turned Down so many good roles including Double Indemnity…REALLLY???

19. A Time For Killing (1967) I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. Especially considering I had no idea what it was about when i first put it in…I was thinking film noir….but its about The Civil War with a few surprising funny moments…

Check it out!

20. The Alphabet Murders (1965) Tony Randall is hilarious and an unusual choice to fill the role of the Belgian Detective Hercule Poirot…but it was good. More comedy then mystery here folks…Neat to see Miss Marple Make a cameo…to quick though…they should have worked together :)

21. Railroaded (1947) Excellent film Noir Gem…not very well known. Actually as enjoyable as it was, all I could think of was why wasn’t Claire Trevor in this…Jane Randolph who played Clara Calhoun looked a bit and acted EXACTLY like her…I adore Claire Trevor. So I’ll just pretend it was her :p

Claire Trevor who might as well have been in this film…

Below: Lady who was in the film :(

22. The Love Parade (1929) As charming as Maurice Chevalier is…and as super cute as Jeanette MacDonald is…well it just wasn’t my favorite. Please Don’t hurt me…

Jeanette MacDonald…what is it about her that makes her so cute. Great comical actress…have you seen I Married an Angel? CUTE!!

23. Strange Intruder (1956) Ida Lupino is awesome, so of course I watched this film. Creepy plot line sounds super good…but they could have made it OH SO MUCH BETTER AND SUSPENSEFUL…Oh well at least we have Ida.

Pic of Ida because she also rox my sox!!

24. The Wasp Woman (1959) Who doesn’t love a good ole fashioned cult sci-fi movie of the 50’s…they sure knew how to make them back in the day…Give me a couple injections and a jar of wasp jelly and i’ll take over the world…

LOOKING SEXY!! Ahhh to be young again…

25. The Subject Was Roses…EXCELLENT…No sign of an ounce of bad acting…some of the best on film. Patricia Neal is Marvelous! Should have thrown those roses right in his face…

Amazing Performances by all…I bow down to all of yee…

26. Lilies of the Field…One of my new favorite movies and I thought Sidney Poiter was perfect casting. Actually quite comical…gotta love those nuns ;)

Cute movie…

Only 274 more to go…lol
